Wholesome Simon

Wholesome Simon, one of the best content creators in the whole entire world. Who is only 21 and has so much in store for him in the future.

Simon Kim is more well-known as WholesomeSimon on YouTube and TikTok. Is a vlog/movie-making content creator on many apps across the internet, Simon rose to fame on his TikTok which has over 1 million followers, and slowly moved over to releasing videos on his YouTube where his top video is “a video to watch when you’re sad” has over 2.7 million views on YouTube. He has surpassed over 311,000 subscribers on youtube and we all should expect that to grow in the future. Simon brings a new fun life to social media, He is not doing it for the views or the money, he does it because it’s what he enjoys making.

Simon started his channel on December 1st, 2019, and the oldest video he has uploaded to the channel is “a two minute plea to keep living” which was released on March 8th, 2020 right before the start of COVID-19. That video got over 200,000 views but after that, most of his videos got anywhere between 5,000 to 20,000 views on average until he released his top-performing video which has already been mentioned “a video to watch when your sad” after that his video retained a lot more views on average getting 30,000 to 50,000 with a lot of videos hitting the hundred thousands and even more with millions of views. Simon was only about 18 at this time and that’s super impressive for anyone to do let alone someone at 18. If you ever feel like you don’t have the experience or age that some other creators have and are discouraged from making content you should go look at Simon and what he has done in such a short time on this earth.

Almost all of Simon’s videos are about the betterment of yourself and the growth of a person, he even partnered with Better Health, an online therapy website that is extremely on-brand for him. He loves to travel and meet people or just to go see the world with his friends and that’s what most of his videos entail with one of the biggest being “a film about friendship | 10,000 miles” which has over 1.6 million views this date, and is as it sounds a film he made about him and his friends driving across the whole country. All of his videos do a similar thing though, they play licensed music, which if you trying to monetize your videos you might think why in hell would he do that, he is trying to make a great video, not a great money-making machine.  From what I can tell he is just trying to better his video quality even with the sacrifice of money which I’m sure to him is a great trade-off to make the video more enjoyable to his viewers.

Simon has always been trying to make a difference whether is making videos helping people who do not feel like they are good enough or trying to help people self self-esteem when he talks about opening up to people and the world through these videos. This is showcased in the video “i took a gap year to travel the world” which as it sounds he took a gap year from going to college to travel the world. In this video, he and his friends create something called a “creator Camp” which is where a bunch of content creators come together to discuss and figure out the best ways for them to make videos and whatever kind of content they create. This shows that he put aside so much money to try to help his friends and strangers he had never met before to try to better their online careers and give them good advice on how they can improve while having a blast doing it.

Simon is one of the most influential people I’ve ever watched and has inspired me and so many others to start creating and dreaming. He should be on anyone’s bucket list on who to watch in the meantime and who to even plan your goals and your life around because he is so inspirational in how he creates his videos and his community. Simon will one day be one of the biggest people on these platforms and should be a household name to anyone who follows in these communities anyone that plans around how he creates should also experience this success as long as you follow his way of making videos or just get inspired by it and be creative and make your way up for others to do the same to.
